Celebrating Life Through
Divine Worship
10:00 AM, October 31, 2010
The time of centering: We use this time to make the transition between “getting here” and “being here.” Take these few minutes of quiet time to get in touch with the calm places, the still, deep places in you; the spirit. Relax your body; quiet the inner dialogue of you mind. Focus on feeling, on being. Be receptive to your center – your reservoir of inner peace, strength, love. Be aware of being with others. Feel the spirit of the community. Welcome………..

CALL US TOGETHER
LEADER:
The morning light has broken through the darkness of the
night
once again.
PEOPLE: In such a manner God’s
light and word breaks into our
lives.
LEADER: God breaks through all the confusion, doubt, and loneliness
which
absorb us at times. God’s light shines on us and re-
veals
all that is within us, and within God’s creation.
PEOPLE: We are promised this
continued in-breaking of the
Spirit. The Spirit breaks in on us today with the glad
news: Today is God’s day.
ALL: In this day we delight in praising the
God who loves us.
All praises
for God’s re-creation of this new day.

A DATE FOR NUMANA
The Smithville UMC has signed
up to work with NUMANA and several area churches to package meals. We will need several volunteers to work 2
hour shifts thru out the day. Volunteers
can be young (5-6) to the very mature. This would be a great project to do as a
family, a group of friends or any organization that you may be a part of i.e.
Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Chamber of Commerce, you get the idea. NUMANA provides
meals to countries that are in need of help.
We will be packaging meals for Haiti.
This is a great community service project. It is super simply to do and
a lot of fun as well. We will be
providing more information next month. So please mark your calendar for January
8, 2011. The location will at the Northview Elementary School 9201 N. Indiana
Ave. Kansas City, MO 64156.
We will have a sign-up located at the church bulletin board. This is really a great project and a great
way to start your New Year.
CPR TRAINING
Would you be interested in
having CPR training here at SUMC? The cost would be $35 per person. This class
would be for new certification or renewal of certification. Please contact the
office at 532-3200 asap if you are interested so we
can set a date.
