Celebrating Life Through
Divine Worship
10:00 AM, October 24, 2010
The time of centering: We use this time to make the transition between “getting here” and “being here.” Take these few minutes of quiet time to get in touch with the calm places, the still, deep places in you; the spirit. Relax your body; quiet the inner dialogue of you mind. Focus on feeling, on being. Be receptive to your center – your reservoir of inner peace, strength, love. Be aware of being with others. Feel the spirit of the community. Welcome………..

PREPARE OURSELVES TO WORSHIP
CALL US TOGETHER
LEADER: Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on us. As we gather
in
this place, allow your spirit to fill our very being.
PEOPLE: As we worship today, we
remember our brothers
and sisters who are worshiping elsewhere throughout
the world. Inspire all of us to work more faithfully
for justice and dignity of life everywhere.
LEADER: Raise our vision above all barriers. Give us wisdom as
we
deal with one another. Give us courage to ask: Where
can
we serve you?
PEOPLE: In the spirit of Jesus,
who came not to be served but to
serve, we now must walk in the world. We now must
walk in the world. WE now must reach out our hands
with help and open our hearts in love. Awake in us the
desire to seek your way of serving you in the world.
LEADER: Come, People of God, rejoice!
ALL: Come let us worship together!

A DATE FOR NUMANA
The Smithville UMC has signed
up to work with NUMANA and several area churches to package meals. We will need several volunteers to work 2
hour shifts thru out the day. Volunteers
can be young (5-6) to the very mature. This would be a great project to do as a
family, a group of friends or any organization that you may be a part of i.e.
Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Chamber of Commerce, you get the idea. NUMANA provides
meals to countries that are in need of help.
We will be packaging meals for Haiti.
This is a great community service project. It is super simply to do and
a lot of fun as well. We will be
providing more information next month. So please mark your calendar for January
8, 2011. The location will at the Northview Elementary School 9201 N. Indiana
Ave. Kansas City, MO 64156.
We will have a sign-up located at the church bulletin board. This is really a great project and a great
way to start your New Year.
