Celebrating Life through Divine Worship

10:00 AM     September 11, 2011

The time of centering:

THE PEACE OF THE LORD BE WITH YOU!  We greet you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, who knows you by name, who cares deeply about you, and who wants you to live and work for him.  Let us draw closer to Him within this time of fellowship and worship.  WELCOME!

PRELUDE                                    Worship begins as the music is played

ENTRANCE OF THE LIGHT

INVOCATION

No longer slave, but free. No longer servant, but friend.  No longer foreigner, but family.  No longer bound by the law, but by Love.        Come worship the One who unlocks the shackles and dismantles boundaries and barriers, freeing us each to be more fully who God imagines; guiding us closer to Shalom.  Amen

WELCOME

MISSION MOMENT                            "One Great Hour of Sharing"

*SONG OF PRAISE                               "I've Got Peace Like a River"

                                                                           "The Trees of the Field"

CALL TO WORSHIP  (Based on Psalm 139)

LEADER:  O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away.

PEOPLE:  May my thoughts be compassionate.

LEADER:  You search my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, O Lord, you know it completely.

PEOPLE:  May my language be Love.

LEADER:   Before me, below me, behind me, and above me is your grace. Keep me on the path of grace.

PEOPLE:  Lead me in ways of wonder. Lead me to be awe-struck by life.

ALL:  How often I strive to put you in a box, O God, because you are beyond my comprehension. Stretch me to love beyond what I imagine, to share beyond my quest for security, and to show hospitality beyond human barriers. Stretch me to your ways of Peace.  Amen

UNISON RESPONSE

God is everywhere.
We are always in the presence of God.
In our drive to work or school or walks in the woods;
In simple conversation or quiet rest;
In new schemes and old daydreams;
When we gather to eat or stand to sing;
We are always in the presence of God.
