Celebrating Life through Divine Worship

Fifth Sunday after Pentecost

10:00 AM     July 17, 2011

The time of centering:

Welcome!  May the joy of new birth, the transformational power of new visions, and the burning love of Christ make all of your days a Pentecost of hope.  We are called to be Spirited people, powerful as the wind in doing God’s will, energetic as fire in extending the love of Christ.  We are called to learn and grow and change in a community of fellow seekers. Together may we be builders of understanding, makers of peace, servants of God’s love and grace, this day and every day… Welcome!

INVOCATION

Our gracious God, like a loving parent you nurture and encourage us to grow in grace.  Grant that by sensing your Spirit’s presence in our midst, we may be enabled to mature in our commitment to you.  Show us once again our possibilities. Help us grow to be better servants of your will and agents of your love in all we do. Amen.

SERMON                                   Visions and Dreams: Spiritual Growth

UNISON PRAYER

God gives us one day at a time: long enough for laughter to follow any tears; deep enough for prayer and silence to dance together; time enough to help someone in need; plenty of time to notice beauty and praise the Maker; sufficient time to build a bridge of forgiveness or tear down a wall of resentment; the right time to embrace friends, smile at strangers, play with children, and sing praise to God.  We are thankful for the bond of love and faith which connects us with other seekers around us and with you, as one day at a time we live and grow in this family of faith.  Amen.

BENEDICTION

Now may our God, whom we know as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, walk with us in the days of this week.  And may we heed his direction and the opportunities for spiritual growth placed daily before us.  Amen.
