The time of centering:
Oh God, we gather today not only as your created beings but as your covenant people. We are loved by you and called by you to this house of worship. Thank you for the living presence of Jesus Christ, who transforms our human attempts at prayer and praise into divine worship that pleases you. Thank you for your Spirit who empowers our worship. We give you glory for who you are, Father, Son and Holy Spirit and for all that you have done. Amen

Loving God, who speaks to us through you Scriptures and in the collective wisdom of your people throughout the ages, help us to hear anew what you would speak to us this day. For your word is always fresh, a message of life and hope in the world that needs to know and heed your will. Through Christ the living Word and your Spirit of illumination who, with You, is the truth that sets us free. Amen

2012 FLOWER CHART
The 2012 Altar flower chart is now available in the Great Room on the bulletin board on the east wall if you wish to sign up for flowers. Flowers are $12.00. Make your check out to SUMC. Please put “flowers” in the memo and drop in the collection or leave in the office. On the chart put your name and what the flowers are for (honor, memory, etc.). If you have any questions please see or call Lu Darr at 532-0106.

CELEBRATION SUNDAY & POTLUCK
Join us on Sunday, January 29th for Celebration Sunday and potluck dinner. We will be celebrating many things including the outgoing and incoming church leaders.
We need volunteers to fix supper for the youth on Sunday evenings. There is a signup sheet in the Great Room. This can be done by a group, a Sunday school class or individuals. You decide the menu.
CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS
2011 contribution statements will be available next Sunday. They will be on the table on the east wall of the Great Room. What is not picked up will be mailed, so to save postage please remember to pick your statement.
