Holy God, Eternal Spirit, we thank you for baptizing us into one body, your church. Wash over us with your Spirit, that, like Christ, we may serve you in serving humanity. Baptize us with the fire of your truth. Empower us to worship and serve you. Amen.

We seek to be a new people, and your presence gives us a blazing warmth. Be with us as we worship and as we go forth from this place in work and play. Energize us with the flames of your spirit. Amen.

I will be in the office on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday late afternoon and Wednesday morning for the next week. The office will be closed and no preschool on Monday, January 16th for Martin Luther King Day.
2012 FLOWER CHART
The 2012 Altar flower chart is now available in the Great Room on the bulletin board on the east wall if you wish to sign up for flowers. Flowers are $12.00. Make your check out to SUMC. Please put “flowers” in the memo and drop in the collection or leave in the office. On the chart put your name and what the flowers are for (honor, memory, etc.). If you have any questions please see or call Lu Darr at 532-0106.
PRESCHOOL NEED The preschool is in need of
round Quaker oats boxes to use as drums. Please leave in the office if you
have any. Thanks

Prayer and Renewal is a small group that will meet once
a month on the 3rd Tuesday at 7:00 pm. The first one will be January 17th.
Please contact Sharon Fairlie if you have any questions or to sign up for
the group.


There will be 5 youth (Zach Shipp, William Fries, Matthew Gager, Jordain Pack & Tommy Mast) and 2 adults (Pastor Kathy & Vince Shipp) from SUMC that will be attending WOW 2012 in Springfield, MO on January 21 & 22. Sharon Fairlie will be preaching that Sunday.
CELEBRATION SUNDAY & POTLUCK
Join us on Sunday, January 29th for Celebration Sunday and potluck dinner. We will be celebrating many things including the outgoing and incoming church leaders.

We need volunteers to fix supper for the youth on Sunday evenings. There is a signup sheet in the Great Room. This can be done by a group, a Sunday school class or individuals. You decide the menu.
